1. How do you think stereotypes, about what women can or cannot do, affect women’s right to equality?
Answer: Because of these stereotypes, Women are not given enough opportunities to work in many fields. People think that women are only suitable for certain jobs like nursing, teaching, etc. Women are only supposed to do household work.
These stereotypes become the reasons for discrimination against women.

Some of these reasons are as follows:

(3) No transport facilities for them to schools.
(4) Family responsibilities as they have to take care of their younger siblings.
(5) Unwillingness of parents to send their daughters to school.
(6) Sometimes, discrimination forces poor girls to drop out.

4. Can you describe two methods of struggle that the women’s movement used to raise issues?
If you had to organize a struggle against stereotypes, about what women can or cannot do, what method would you employ from the ones that you have read about? Why would you choose this particular method?
Answer: The women’s movement used several methods of struggle in order to raise issues.

(1) Campaigns
Women raised their voices against the issues through movements. Campaigning is an important part of the women’s movement for fighting against discrimination and violence. New laws were made by the government after people campaigned and raised awareness against several issues of women.
Protests
Women raised their voices and protested against injustice and violence towards them. Public rallies and demonstrations are a very powerful way of drawing attention to injustices.
